Urbana Sathorn Hotel, Bangkok ★★★★

Stinky rooms, unclean air-conditioning, balcony area not cleaned

The Urbana Sathorn is well located, close enough to the BTS but mostly within 10min walk to silom road. The room is spacious and with all facilities (washing machine, kettle, sink, microwave, etc.) if you need anything the staff is very helpful and kind. The view I had was stunning even more at night. The hotel has an amazing pool with great sauna and a fitness center that is spacious and with enough equipment for you to perform any targeted workout.

The keycard kept on being unencrypted, so I had to ask reception to reset it to access the room. A simple contact with AirPods or phone and you’re good for a visit at reception. At first the room had a slight smell but I believe it was just the AC, as it went away in just a couple of hours.

Room was reasonably clean. Bed and pillow were comfortable. Room was a good size.

Had issue with the shower water heater. Technician tried to rectify but could not.

Very affordable apartments with all amenities.

We are on a long trip and this bed was the most comfortable ever since we are travelling.

You hear the never sleeping City all the night long - we had an apartment with streetview.

Comfortable big apartments, in a good location

Breakfast wasn't as good as it used to be here, but still ok. Hotel maintenance seems to be cutting costs, there were a lot of ugly fixes using cheaper materials than the original, e.g. the swimming pool - I hope these are just temporary, but it seemed not!

The apartment is a good size and well equipped

Overall does not feel 5* and a bit old and worn. The restaurant was okay but the breakfast below expectation for a 5* establishment in Bangkok

The place was spacious and plus we got upgraded to a bigger room- free of charge. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I couldn't fault the place and would defintitely stay here again

The hotel was very dirty, no hot water in the bathroom, no toilet paper, no hairdryer. I was coughing all the time because of dust in the room. Swimming pool has got alive. You have to ask for tea bags. Never recommend.

Very good price Quality relation I was upgraded for free to a bigger room. The room is nice and the staff was helpful, so in general I would recommend the hotel

The pool hammocks are ¡¡¡¡NAILED TO THE FLOOR¡ so the umbrellas are useless.... and as a result the swimingpool is useless. Very surprising. Does any one from management visited the pool???

The room was incredible (deluxe suite) and its comfort delightful. Gym facilities are pretty good, and there was only one other person there when I went. The pool is phenomenal for relaxing. Having the restaurant downstairs is an added bonus, and it was very affordable. Breakfast is great! Definitely worth getting. Suits all diets.

Wifi was crappy. Didn't work most of the time I was there, even though they had someone come up and supposedly fix it. I was on a business trip, and not being able to use wifi in my room was a huge downside to this hotel. Also, they don't tell you beforehand they need a $100 deposit on the room when you arrive, that you get back when you leave. I was not traveling with a credit card, and they would not accept my bank card. This was a hassle, and they held my passport until I was able to get them the deposit somehow. We managed to work it out in the end, but they really ought to tell you about this deposit on their web site, or sites who book for them such as booking.com, and that bank cards as credit cards will not work.

The rooms are of a good size.

The check in experience is terrible. Every time I have stayed at this hotel it is always the same. I made my booking through booking.com. The money is taken before you arrive from the payment card, which is explained in the booking conditions. The problem is that they then want a deposit to be held on the credit card, which I do not have, only a debit card. I then gave them 3000 bart cash as I deposit, however they insisted they wanted a card debit also to cover the whole payment. I explained that they had already taken the whole payment. They then wanted a photocopy of my payment card, which I refused to do. The hotel then blamed Booking.com for not explaining this. The reception is manned by trainees and do not understand the way payment is made. The whole processed took around 45 mins to sort out. This is not the way to treat guests on arrival. I have stayed here many times before because of the location and value for money, they MUST sort out their check in process.

The pool is cool

Well the standard is a bit shady. The hotel reception tried to tell me the taxi from the hotel to BKK costs 1000 while It costs 500 (with taxi meter 300-400)

A great stay and nice hotel on the whole. Downside was both showers in our family suite were stone cold and the air con was not working properly. We reported the problem on several occasions but nothing was done to investigate, fix or offer compensation. The staff seemed indifferent.

Apartment needed some TLC. Lots of scuffs on furniture. Not cleaned properly. Dirty finger marks on doors. Mould in bathrooms. Spa pool and sauna not on. Not enough toilet roll supplied and had to keep asking.
